She also reveals that Elcrest was a Conductor like Alto and teamed up with the Witches and King Xeno to save the world. In this chapter, Alto sees his and Elcrest's spirit world for the first time.Īt the beginning of this chapter, Queen Anastasia tells Alto another story about Elcrest, which is slightly more accurate than Lisette's story at the beginning. After the Song Stone flies to Alto, Elcrest also tells him to conduct Popo. Once Alto agrees, he bestows some of his power on him and instructs him to tune Lisette.Īgain as just a voice, Elcrest tells Alto to tune Popo once she falls into despair. As a disembodied voice, he offers his Conductor's power to Alto, warning him that he cannot turn back once it is given.

Alto had control over their shared body, but Elcrest remained in his soul, watching over him.Įlcrest first appears in the scene before the prologue, which is the Witches' conversation about how to help him shown from his point of view while he is burning.ĭuring the prologue itself, Elcrest's name and general story is introduced in (a heavily simplified and moderately inaccurate version of) his story that Lisette is telling to two village children.Įlcrest next appears much later on in the chapter, after Alto is consumed by the black fire generated by Lisette's despair after she gains the Water Qualia. Three years before the story, both Elcrest and Alto woke up. Before going into the sleep, Elcrest asked Hilda to protect the world for as long as he was gone, which she promised to, along with promising that she would be there when he woke up.Įlcrest was put to sleep, but while he was sleeping, Alto's personality diverged from his and became his own individual. He attempted to request a mercy kill from Hilda, but Francisca came up with a plan to put him into a healing sleep until the fire was completely purged. Only through Xeno's self-sacrifice were Elcrest and the party able to escape and survive.Įven so, Elcrest was still burning out and filled with despair fire. However, the battle went disastrously though the party managed to shatter off a piece of Mother Qualia, Eve appeared and set Elcrest on black fire, corrupting him and his Qualia with all of the negative emotions of humanity and attempting to burn him out through that. When he had finally recruited all of the Witches and taught them all the Celestial Hymn, he, the Witches, Veronica, and Xeno all set off up the Yggdrasil to fight Mother Qualia.
Other unknowns are how he got the score for the Celestial Hymn and how he got the Song Stone nevertheless, all of these-Celestial Qualia, Celestial Hymn, and Song Stone-had to have come into his ownership at some point before or during his quest. He used this to purify their qualias, freeing them from Mother Qualia's control. Because of this, he was the Conductor, who had the power of tuning and conducting Witches. It is unknown how, why, or when this happened, but Elcrest had the Celestial Qualia, the qualia of positive emotions in opposition to Mother Qualia's negative, inside of his chest. Elcrest wears white armor on various parts of his body, such as a breastplate over his shirt, complicated gauntlets that resemble flames, and high, segmented armor boots.ĭuring the Eclipse one thousand years ago, Elcrest decided to stand up to the angels and challenge Mother Qualia.Īt some point, he befriended King Xeno and Doctor Veronica, and alongside them, he set out to recruit the Witches to his cause. He also wears long black and gold gloves and black and gold pants. Attached to the shirt is a brooch featuring the Celestial Qualia set in gold. He is a relatively short man with large gold eyes and short, dark blue hair with a noticeable cowlick.Įlcrest wears a long red tailcoat with a black collared shirt underneath. Elcrest appears to be somewhere in his late teens to early adulthood.
